Hagia Sophia

One of the ancient wonders of the world. The Hagia Sophia is the most visited museum in Turkey. It has beautiful mosaics and stand out with its stunning architecture. I loved this building and took many photos of it. I tried to take the best shots over and over, I am sharing two of my Hagia Sophia pictures with you, one from outside and one from inside the church.

Sultanahmet square and the park

Inside the Hagia Sophia is like a spiritual voyage. It mesmerize you with its beauty and you find yourself keep looking up the ceilings and walls. There is something everywhere to see. I think you should spend several days, only for Hagia Sophia to see each and every details. Perhaps it’s still not possible to see whole details after all that time.

Topkapı Palace

The Sultans, the emperors of the Ottoman Empire, lived in this massive palace. It look like a castle, since it’s surrounded with high walls. There is a pretty fountain in front of it. You can see the fountain and the ceremonial entrance gate (Bab-ı Humayun) from the visual. The building will be restorated soon, so make sure that you get there in time.

Blue Mosque

Blue Mosque is a great place to see. I took two photos again from outside and inside. Here you can see the entrance gate to the Blue Mosque which is opening to the main courtyard. The people who wants to pray, muslims, are allowed from the courtyard. Otherwise, touristic visits from the side door.

Blue Mosque Entrance

It’s confusing that there is nothing related to blue color from the outside of the Mosque. So while waiting in the queue, you think why they call this place as Blue Mosque? You get the answer after getting inside the mosque. Here it is! The beautiful dome of Blue Mosque with a distinctive Blue color.

New Mosque And Suleymaniye Mosques

New Mosque is located at Eminönü which is like the hub of the Old Peninsula of Istanbul. Galata Bridge is next to this area. You may visit the Spice Bazaar as well. So the closer object in the picture is the New Mosque, built by Valide Sultan (Mother Of Sultan) and the further image is Süleymaniye Mosque which is built by the architect Sinan, in the name of the Sultan Suleiman The Magnificent. That is even larger mosque than the Blue Mosque. I think it’s the biggest mosque in Istanbul.

4 Seasons Hotel With Seljuk Architecture

Four Seasons Hotel is located in the heart of the old city. It’s surprising that this building used to be a prison before. So the rich visitors of Istanbul paying a lot of money to hire one of the cells inside. Apart from the joke, the building is perfectly restored and converted into a luxurious hotel. I strongly recommend you to have a look at the pretty garden. The building’s architectural features are Seljuk Style. Seljuk Turks are known as the fathers of Ottoman Turks.

Grand Bazaar

Grand Bazaar is a bustling shopping center. It is built in 15th century. It has been the main shopping attraction of Istanbul ever since. You may see people walking around, wandering through the streets. This place is like a maze. Easy to get lost. A tour guide is recommended.
